Work with me
So you’re interested in working with me? Great!
Below is what that typically looks like. Otherwise, if you need more info, see what I do, and have a look at my portfolio.
1. Get in touch to tell me about your project
Contact me via email or my web form. If you can, please tell me:
-
what you need help with
-
the industry, type, and length of text/s you’d like me to work on
-
if this is a translation project, I normally need to see the text
2. I’ll get back to you
I’ll ask any questions that haven’t yet been covered. I’ll let you know if this is something I can help with, and give you a quote and a delivery date for the project.
If I can't help, I may be able to refer you to one of my trusted colleagues.
(NB: I'm based in New Zealand, so there may be some delay due to the time difference. Find out more about contacting me).
3. Once you accept my quote, I’ll get to work
When I have confirmation from you, I’ll get to work, letting you know if questions crop up along the way.
For projects over a certain size, I may ask for partial payment upfront.
4. Project delivery
I’ll deliver your text by the agreed deadline, with any outstanding queries or questions highlighted for you. I include one round of edits as standard, so get back to me if you'd like some changes or if you have any questions.
5. Feedback request
Once the project is finished, I’ll ask you to complete my feedback request form. This helps me understand what I’ve done well, and where there’s room for improvement, and really helps me get things perfect for future work together.
6. Invoice
I normally invoice all my clients at the end of the month, unless other arrangements have been made.
